Just received this:
For years, we in NE Indana enjoyed one of the best 1/8 track anywhere. Avilla Drag way was a second home to most every gear head in this area until it sadly died an undignified bulldozer death in favor of a gas station/ McDonalds. So the track is gone, but the ONLY AMC running there still lives (kinda) My 70 Donohue. A barn find from Illinois, the pride and joy of a young soldier who was tragically killed in Germany digging a fox hole and struck by lightning. Car sat in his parents garage (dirt floor) for 6 years before I hear of it and brought it to Indiana. Dirt floor storage had done its nasty deed to the floor pans, rockers trunk, etc. More project than I needed, so the car sat with me (concrete) for 3 more. When the bracket bug bit, it was an easy choice, wasnt gonna strip down a decent 69AMX, so the Donohue became a racer. .030 401 did a pull netting 347 rear wheel Hp gutted down to fighting weight of 2790 lbs and somewhat consistant 7.8 1/8 mile runs. Track went away, trans died car sat for 4-5 yrs more. recent muscle car show got interest going again, so as soon as I get the newly built 727 back in her, it will be time to play a bit before winter sets.
